Opening A Fund At the Community Foundation

Opening A Fund At the Community Foundation

Leaving a legacy is not as difficult as one might think. The Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin has a number of options to impact the community at large or a person’s favorite charity, literally forever!

How to Start a Fund

1. Select and meet with the professional advisor of one’s choosing
2. Meet with a staff member at the Community Foundation to discuss one’s charitable goals
3. Determine the amount of the gift and when it will be made
4. Choose the kind of gift to be made (cash, property, life insurance, etc.) to maximize one’s tax benefits

The Foundation’s two most popular funds are scholarship and donor advised funds. The Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin currently administers over 120 scholarships annually. Through a donor advised fund the family name can be preserved through charitable giving, with the Community Foundation actively engaging the donor in the distribution process.

There are numerous options to charitable giving when working with the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin serving Portage and Waushara Counties. For more information email us at foundation@cfcwi.org or call us at 715-342-4454. Hours: 9am-3pm Monday-Thursday.
